Case Study 1: ICP develops safer and more efficient body bag system. A national health systems Risk Management and Safety Director contacted ICP when one of their nurses came in contact with fluids from a deceased patient due to a leaky body bag. After determining that no acceptable leak-resistant product currently existed, ICP worked with several of the health systems internal departments to create an alternative that would increase safety and ease of use, while decreasing contamination and liability. The resulting solution is a leak and fluid resistant cadaver containment system, incorporating heat sealed edges and zippers to prevent fluids from leaking from the stitching, a zip-lock style closure and an absorbent inner liner. The new bag is made of a polyethylene material, which is stronger than traditional bags to reduce the risk of punctures and tears, and its oversized dimensions make usage faster and easier for the medical staff. Our client has successfully implemented these new bags throughout their health system, and has used them for 4 years with no reported leaks. Case Study 2: ICP increases employee safety and satisfaction with new hand sanitizer. Health care workers complained that their existing hand sanitizer was drying and chapping their hands and had a very overpowering fragrance. This was reducing staff compliancy. It was also damaging walls & floors from overspray, as well as damaging other items when caps fell off during transport. ICP was called in to develop a product that met the needs of both staff and administration. Working with clinicians at several facilities, ICP addressed multiple issues by creating a foamed hand sanitizer that was fragrance-free and contained added emollients to reduce skin drying and chapping, and a 78% larger can to reduce time associated with refills. Our specially designed dispenser system incorporates a drip tray and splash guard, to prevent damage to carpet and walls, and individually wrapped tops prevents loss of caps and damage to other supplies during transport. Our client has now been using the foamed alcohol sanitizer for over 3 years, to find an increase in nursing satisfaction and compliancy with hand sanitization guidelines. They also reduced costs by over 38% from their previous supplier, and incurred additional savings by eliminated damaged products and wasted staff time! Case Study 3: ICP creates an easy and cost effective method for patient hair care. Traditional shampooing for patients is both costly and time consuming, and our client found the already available 2-piece design shampoo caps both expensive and ineffective. ICP developed a unique one-piece laminated shampoo cap, which maximizes hair cleansing and also allows the individual user to customize shampoo and conditioner ingredients, fragrances and amounts. Our client is now able to provide their customers and patients with a more clinically effective product at a more cost-effective price. Case Study 4: ICP develops a gown that is both safe AND comfortable. When their current gown suppliers were unwilling to create a standardized isolation gown, and no other acceptable products were found, this hospital turned to ICP for a customized solution. The optimal isolation gown would need to provide both maximum protection and comfort, and meet specific packaging requirements, all at a cost that would minimize the impact of increased usage. ICPs solution is a uniquely comfortable laminated gown, with a protective poly coated outer layer, and an inner cloth layer that keeps plastic away from the skin and absorbs perspiration. The tear-away design eliminates the need to reach around the neck to untie and dispose of the gown, reducing possible contamination. They also include a specially designed thumb-loop, which prevents sleeves from riding up and exposing workers wrists, as happens with traditional gowns. The product was packaged and delivered to exactly meet our customers specifications, allowing them to maximize the amount of product stored in their PPE organizers. The ICP gown has helped our client eliminate 6 separate SKU #s, at a savings of 28% over their previous products. Nursing and administration are both very happy with the new design, and have since requested ICPs help on additional product development. Case Study 5: ICP develops customizable organizational system for personal protection equipment. Nursing committee members from this hospital committed to eliminating bulky isolation carts from their corridors in an effort to increase safety for both patients and nurses. They turned to ICP for help in creating a better solution for organizing and distributing personal protection supplies. ICPs customized solution addresses a number of issues found with the old carts and cabinets. Our open system design allows staff members to immediately access necessary supplies, and to see when inventory is low in order to refill it as necessary. The organizers are completely adaptable, with adjustable brackets that accommodate many brands and product sizes, and a customizable layout which can be adjusted to meet the needs of individual departments or facilities. ICP also developed several new mounting options which increase compliancy by making it possible to hang the organizers at any point of care, including walls, glass and doors. Our client has successfully implemented PPE organizers throughout their hospital system, and has used them for over 3 years. Isolation carts have been eliminated, much to the satisfaction of nursing staff, and an increased compliancy with personal protection equipment has been achieved. |
